Someone wise once said, "You get to know a man best through his children." Sadly, I never got to know Mike, but I did know his daughter Sarah. Sarah joined me as an intern my very first year at KGCB. It was such a crazy time for me…transitioning from the military and struggling to learn my job and our family’s new life in Prescott…I didn’t know what to do with myself, let alone an intern. I can just remember how kind and gracious Sarah was amidst the chaos in those early years of the ministry. Her tender smile had a way of diffusing any situation. I also saw in her a strong, ambitious young woman who had a gentle, quiet determination to achieve all that God had for her life. On both occasions that I had to be near Mike, I witnessed where that strength and inner resolve came from. Once as he released his youngest daughter into the arms of Jesus and the other as he released his oldest into the arms of another man.

Sadly, I didn’t know Mike Williams, but thanks to Sarah, I’m so glad I did.
