Our family started at Deer Valley Church in the late 1970’s. Mike was one of the first to say hi. In the next years Judy and I became youth leaders. Mike was our teen leader and we could count on him to pray and share is faith. We also started a slow pitch soft ball team and I enjoyed Mikes winning attitude which helped all the team win or loss. We enjoyed watching Mike and Laurel’s relationship grow to engagement. They would come over to our house and talk about upcoming marriage. I was a fairly new Christian and learned a lot from Mike about faith, humility, service, helping others, and having a friendly smile. I trust Mike’s legacy will go on through his children and generations to come.
