I remember meeting the Williams family at the Deer Valley Free Methodist Church in 1976. I immediately felt a bond with this amazing family. They also had three daughters and a son like we did.
Mike was about seventeen at the time. He always had a smile on his face and seemed to love life. About five years later, Gary and I began to lead the youth group, and about that same time Mike began to notice a cute young lady, Laurel. They came along side us and helped with the youth. The kids loved them. Gary and I were so proud of the example they set for the young people at church. Our three daughters were in the group and all the kids looked up to Mike and Laurel. And soon they took over the youth group.
We have been to weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, and births with the Williams family. And the saddest of all, the loss of their beloved little, Nichole. I can now picture Mike running with Nichole chasing butterflies. What a comfort this must bring to the family, and that one day they can all be reunited for eternity.
God bless you all, love Judy Heusman.
